De La Soul Is Dead is the second studio album by American hip-hop group De La Soul, released on May 14, 1991. The album was produced by Prince Paul, whose work on 3 Feet High and Rising was highly praised by music critics.

The best cuts on De la Soul Is Dead - A Roller Skating Jam Named ‘Saturdays' (built on samples of Chic, Chicago and the title cut from the film Grease), Talkin’ Bout Hey Love (a reconstructed power-pop ode) and Bitties in the BK Lounge (with a mean game of cross-gender dozens) - resurrect love-jones clichés while methodically (and melodically) mining.

De La Soul - Star Track feat De La Soul, Propellerheads feat. De La Soul - 360 (Oh Yeah), De La Soul feat. 88 Keys - Intro (De La Soul/Lyricist Lounge Vol. 1).

De La Soul is an American hip hop trio formed in 1987 on Long Island, New York. The band is best known for their eclectic sampling, quirky lyrics, and their contributions to the evolution of the jazz rap and alternative hip hop subgenres. Style:MLA Chicago APA. "De La Soul Is Dead Album.

That is how De La Soulinitially described its eighth album and first in 12 years, when announced last March. The legacy hip-hop trio would offer a few more specifics. To call De La Soul sentimental would be a stretch. De La Soul Is Dead, which just turned 25, did away with 3 Feet High’s freewheeling approach a mere two years later. But the ambitious And the Anonymous Nobody shows how far the group will go to prove that it isn’t dead.
