First Wave Hello was a band from San Diego CA, that existed from 2004 - 2008. Influenced by 80's Synth Pop, Early 90's Alternative, & Late 90's Post Hardcore, First Wave Hello initially gained recognition in 2006 for their Self Released Debut LP, The Lord & Its Penguin.

The group was nominated for a 2006 San Diego Music Award for Best Local Recording, touring the states that year with contemporaries Hot Like a Robot, and twice more in 2007 as opening support/backing band for Ken Andrews. Their 2007 album God Bless, Devil You was less influenced by the space rock sound that was heavily present on their previous effort. First Wave Hello decided to call it quits in 2008. Keyboardist/singer Dan Reed has also played with Counterfit. Sarah Milan is also known from Lily White and Velcro.

First Wave Hello formed in 2004 in San Diego, CA. They started as an nica project but slowly began to sharpen their craft into a finely tuned spacey electronic-based rock band with a knack for memorable hooks and melodies. They manage to create a perfect balance of 80’s style geek rock a la The Cars with the hilarious whimsical wit of modern wise guy’s Mellowdrone or The Faint. First Wave Hello have released 3 records since 2004 and have supported them with 3 successful full .
