When describing the music on The Red Jewel I guess I should start with the keyboards. The whole album was supposed to have a continuation (at least this is what the booklet next to the lyrics to The 5th and the Hysteric ). Sadly it has been 14 years since the release of The Red Jewel and it doesn’t seem like Tartaros will ever be releasing anything else.

The Red Jewel Tracklist.

Norway's TARTAROS, the creative vision of EMPEROR keyboard player Charmand Grimloch, was at the genesis of symphonic black metal. Alongside CRADLE OF FILTH, EMPEROR, and DIMMU BORGIR, TARTAROS helped usher in a new wave of European metal bands who melded ice cold riffs with epic, keyboard-driven grandeur.

The Red Jewel 07. The Intense Domain Of Grievousness 08. Additional info Recorded and mixed at . Engineered and produced by Charmand Grimloch. Mastered at Strype Audio by Tom Kvålsvoll, Tartaros and Mathias Løken. Photos by Mathias Løken. All ideas, music and cover design by Charmand Grimloch. Not only that, but Emperor's Trym is also sat behind the drum kit here. This Tartaros album sounds almost identical to "IX Equilibrium" with the addition of some crazy, spacey and psychedelic keyboards added for good measure.
