Lonnie Sattin - My Broken Dream / What Time Does The Sun Go Down album flac
The Sun goes nowhere, the reason why the sun goes down is because the Earth is rotating and since the sun is relatively still in our frame of reference, it appears as though it is ‘going down’ or setting. Since the Earth is a sphere, while the sun sets (goes down) where you are located, the sun rises in other parts of the world. For example, if you’re in the USA and it’s night time there, it is daytime in China.
The "sun going down" would be that person actually leaving-"losing everything is like the sun going down on m. It feels like a really desperate plea to someone who is going to leave anyway. Not sure if that's actually it, but that's my interpretation. The locals who live "high" above Boulder, Colorado say that Elton was absolutely & completely smashed when he recorded that song at Caribou Studios (for the album Caribou) around Nederland, Colorado. So completely trashed from the booze, drugs & thin Rocky Mountain air that he could barely stand. If you listen to the song, you can kind of imagine that!
from album: Caribou (1974). I can't light no more of your darkness All my pictures seem to fade to black and white I'm growing tired and time stands still before me Frozen here on the ladder of my life. Its much too late to save myself from falling I took a chance and changed your way of life But you misread my meaning when I met you Closed the door and left me blinded by the light
LyricsWhen the Sun Goes Down. Written by: Trond Holter. When it's gettin' to dark to see I'm travellin' around from town to town All around the world I've been When the sun's going down, it's always in my mind Takes me back home in my dreams Packed up and left my hometown. Had to see every pain on my own. Spent my time driftin' around to see if there's anythin' to be found I remember when the times where wild. Partyed every night in the city streets . More lyrics from the album.
In A Broken Dream Lyrics. David Bentley) I don't care if I ever know, there I go. Don't push your love too far Your wounds won't leave a scar Right now is where you ar. .In a broken dream! Did someone bow their head? Did someone break the bread? Good people are in bed before nine o'clock In a broken dream! And don't forget what I said? Hoooooo! Ivory towers. The original track appeared on Elton’s 8th studio album, Caribou, and was its first single. Released on May 20, 1974, in the UK and on June 10 in the US, it peaked at and on those countries’ respective singles charts in the summer of 1974. Recorded in Colorado in January of that year, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me had a rocky start. Elton and Bernie, along with producer Gus Dudgeon, went for a l-Spector feel on the trac. omething akin to Let's Go Away For A While and the Righteous Brothers’ You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling.
Hear the sound of the falling rain Coming down like an Armageddon flame (Hey!) The shame, the ones who died without a name Hear the dogs howling out of key To a hymn called "Faith and Misery" (Hey!) And bleed, the company lost the war today. I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies This is the dawning of the rest of our lives On holiday
Dream Time by Lonnie Hicks. Ill not take a single kiss from you for that is too few Ill not go silent for words are one way of loving you. Ill not stray far from your arms for. I'll not stray far from your arms for they feel bereft without you swaying in them. I'll lift you to these lips and feel you slide down my body exhaling. I turn you like a star rotating for you have a similar light. If love comes with joy attached mine sings soul songs And you harpist of my deep stirrings play for me sweet songs that only we two lovers know.
Also ironically it didn't go to number 1 in the US. Johnny from Los Angeles, CaRoger Daltry does a good version of this. Steve from Fenton, MoOne of Elton's greatest songs and recordings. Michael from Kearny, NjAs Jason mentioned correctly, Elton was in a vicious mood at the time of recording this song, contrary to the fact that when Elton first wrote this song to Bernie's lyrics, he broke down and wept like a baby. It was typical for Elton to come up masterpiece songs like this while his personal life was falling apart from excesses of drugs, drink and a rock and roll lifestyle.
