Mirković's eighth studio album (and third solo project), Dobra devojka (1991), had two major hit singles: "Umreću zbog tebe" and "Dodaj gas". It was followed by Dolaze nam bolji dani (1992) with multiple hit songs: "Umirem majko", "Pitaju me u mom kraju", "Da, da, da", "O, da li znaš", "Dobro jutro, dobar dan", "Sedmi dan". That same year, she held eleven consequent concerts in Belgrade, with an audience of 50,000 people

Mile Budak, a writer and minister for culture and education, referred to the Muslims as the purest of Croats. The Poglavnik referred to them as brothers of the purest Croat blood. He was also convinced that the Croat national con-sciousness never was extinguished in the Muslim element of Bosnia, and after the departure of the Turks has resurfaced. 51 NDH became a coun-try of two religions: on the country’s rst anniversary, Pavelic´ posed for a photograph wearing a Muslim fez, symbolic of Croatian unity with the Muslims. During these years, Croatia was going through a phase of national re-vival and reorientation into thinking in a Croatian way (an expression coined by retired priest Ante Bakovic´) in the sense of mythic exaggera-tions, reinterpretations of mythical gures, and the invention of new ones. Myths began to spread about an uninterrupted thousand-year Croatian statehood, about the Croatian nation being the oldest, about the afiction of the Croatian nation in Serboslavia, and about the eternal Croatian nation. Let us now return to events in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Bosnian Catholics were divided into three dioceses: Mostar-Duvno, Banja Luka, and the archdiocese of Vrhbosna-Sarajevo. As Petar And¯elovic´, the supe-rior of the Franciscan province of Bosna Srebrena, admits, the church ini-. a war over differences † 271.

The speech of Fužine, Lokve, Sleme, Ogulin is fairly archaic, similar that of the Lower Sutla Valley. In addition to the typical Jekavian speech, there are also mixed forms like Jekavian–Ekavian around Bijelo Polje: djete–deteta. Here the first word is Jekavian, and the second word is Ekavian. Around Podgorica, there is an Ikavian-Đekavian mixed speech. It is spoken in the cities of Slavonski Brod, Nova Gradiška, Osijek, Udbina, Duvno, and Knin in Croatia, and in Bihać, Livno, and Prozor in Bosnia-Herzegovina. However, in Osijek, this dialect is spoken by only 25% of the population, with the other 75% being Ijekavian speakers. Via partisan operations in World War 2 and ethnic cleansing in the Balkans War, the dialect has become much reduced.

We would further like to thank Lidija Baković, University of Munich, Germany, for her assistance with BiH. MAPs in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania.
