End of the Century is the fifth studio album by the American punk rock band the Ramones, released on February 4, 1980, through Sire Records. The album was the band's first produced by Phil Spector, though he had offered the band his assistance earlier in their career. With Spector fully producing the album, it was the first release that excluded original member Tommy Ramone, who in 1978 left the band but produced their previous album Road to Ruin.

Stupid in that they named albums things like Mega Anal and Suck. And stupid in that today's 12 O'Clock Track, "Kill the Ramones," is an irreverent poke at the band that coined the chord progressions to which Boris the Sprinkler bowed. It's fine, Christmas isn't for another week. You've got plenty of time. And here's a grainy, battered video of a teenage fan professing her love to Rev. Norb on the old Jenny Jones Show. It's outrageous, the whole scene.

Boris the Sprinkler released eight full-length albums over the period 1994-2000, including 1994's 8 Testicled Pogo Machine (which included a vocal cameo by Wesley Willis on its first track), 1998's End of the Century (which covered the Ramones album of the same name in its entirety), and two albums for Go-Kart Records, 1999's Suck and 2000's Gay. The group also released numerous EPs and singles, among them 1995's Mutant Pop release "Drugs and Masturbation" and 1996's "Kill the Ramones". Live albums Boris the Sprinkler (Bulge Records, 1998). Live Cincinnati 1999 (Mutant Pop Records, 2000). Live Presents Boris the Sprinkler 11/1/96 (VML Records). Gratuitous 1998 Summer Tour 10" (Clearview Records).

Boris the Sprinkler is a punk band that formed in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1992, known for their zaniness and abnormality. Their aesthetic seemed to borrow from Devo and they display a xerox sci-fi bizarro style reminiscent of Buckaroo Bonzai. They also are fringly associated with the queercore movement of the nineties.
