Permafrost born in the spring of 2008 like a side project of Marco Grosso’s creature Ouroboros, and give a different perspective from main project. Moving on a glacial drone dark ambient style, without melodies and vocals the athmospheres gives a cold and desolate sense of void and freeze a solitude through snow and blizzards, in strange and mysterious placet.
Permafrost crystals were rare lightsaber crystals found on the planet Hoth. When used in a lightsaber, they gave the blade an icy blue color. During the Galactic Civil War, one permafrost crystal was in the possession of the township of Aurilia on the planet Dathomir. It was awarded to a spacer who was a key asset in the Battle of Hoth. Permafrost crystals were deep, icy blue crystals; this coloration was a trait they passed on to the blade of any lightsaber into which they were incorporated
Not just permafrost; these days most cemeteries can thaw out the gournd in winter with propane torches, etc, but my grandfather’s coffin in mid-1900’s Duluth lay in a mausoleum until spring before final internment. As climate warms, some permafrost cemeteries are thawing and becoming swamps. Frost heave is unlikely to move coffins up, but a tight coffin can floa. ore disturbing, permafrost is an ideal way to store pathogens
In geology, permafrost is ground, including rock or (cryotic) soil, with a temperature that remains at or below the freezing point of water 0 °C (32 °F) for two or more years. Most permafrost is located in high latitudes (in and around the Arctic and Antarctic regions), but at lower latitudes alpine permafrost occurs at higher elevations.
The tunnels go deep inside the permafrost in Novy Port, a subterranean labyrinth that is a relic of a former age and a triumph of supreme German engineering in the most inhospitable conditions. In area, at 7,000 square metres, these tunnels and chambers cover a larger space than Donald Trump’s White House in Washington DC. They are all underground, hewn out of the solid frozen ground by labourers, like Backmann, forcibly exiled here deep in the Soviet era. Built in the 1950s, this intriguing monument remains the world’s largest permafrost store built by manual labour.
