The Darkness return with their second album, One Way Ticket To Hell. Everything you've heard is true. All of it. The exhaustion and the fear, the pressure, paranoia and pan pipes, the breakdowns and break-ups, the sackings, sitar solos and endless studio sessions and now ultimately-with this, their second album-the rebirth and redemption of The Darkness. The song "One Way Ticket" is the best song about cocaine ever written and a possible successor for "I Believe in a Thing Called Love. You won't be able to get the chorus from "Knockers" out of your head and songs 3 and 4 are awesome. My wife swears they played that song at the concert in West Palm Beach but it seems like I would have remembered a song this great. Bald is another standout track and one that I can certainly relate to.

More than occasionally, though, One Way Ticket to Hell. and Back just sounds unremarkable, despite the songs' elaborate sonics. Tracks like "Knockers" - which should be a fool-proof Darkness song just based on its title - and "Girlfriend" sound like they were made from bits and pieces of Permission to Land rejects, while ballads such as "Blind Man" and "Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time" sound too much like stale Meat Loaf. tolerated me" show that the wit that made their debut so much fun isn't entirely missing on this album. and Back just shows that the giddy highs of Permission to Land aren't so easy to get the second time around.

Sound - 10 When I first heard of the 'Darkness' I saw them on a music channel on TV. They were singing 'Christmas Time' off their album: 'Permission To Land' album which was very catchy and quite addictive with cool solos and which is quite a catchy and addictive album. Their know just as good as this album, if not better. This is The Darkness's second album. This ones a 'Parental Advisory'. They all keep you entertained. Not the type of songs you would be putting on a TV documentary except maybe: 'One Way Ticket To Hell and Back' which I've heard a few times. They are top on solos and variety of music. None of the songs sound the same. Lyrics - 8 When you start talking about 'The Darkness' you wouldn't usually bring up about their lyrics because their sound and music in a way overcomes that.
