47 (Helm 479) and sonatina Wq. 109 (H. 453), and an undated recording of the concerto for 2 harpsichords Wq. 46 (H. 408), would be a worthwhile disc even without the bargain-basement price. The Wq. 47 concerto is uniquely important in . MAK seems to have the . idiom down a bit better than Collegium Aureum, but that does not invalidate the latter's performance or make me hesitant to recommend it to anyone who has not heard this concerto (which also seems to be currently hard to find on disc, sadly enough).

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (8 March 1714 – 14 December 1788), also formerly spelled Karl Philipp Emmanuel Bach, was a German Classical period musician and composer, the fifth child and second (surviving) son of Johann Sebastian Bach and Maria Barbara Bach. His second name was given in honor of his godfather Georg Philipp Telemann, a friend of Johann Sebastian Bach.
