The Essential Alice in Chains is a two-disc compilation album by the rock band Alice in Chains, and part of Sony BMG's The Essential series. Originally scheduled to be released on March 30, 2004, it was delayed until September 5, 2006. The album was reissued in 2010 with different artwork.

While this may be a little bit too long for those listeners who only want AIC's grunge staples - conversely, there are certainly a handful of songs that diehards might miss - this is nevertheless the best-executed Alice in Chains compilation yet, functioning well as an effective summary and introduction to their too-brief, complicated career. Track Listing - Disc 1. Title/Composer.

Play Alice in Chains. The Essential Alice in Chains is a two-disc compilation album by the grunge band Alice in Chains, and part of Sony BMG's The Essential series.

Alice in Chains is the eponymous third studio album by the American rock band Alice In Chains. Released on November 7, 1995, it was the follow-up to the highly successful Dirt. Similar to Dirt the album's songs focus on heavy subject matter such as depression, isolation, drug use, anger and death

The Essential Alice In Chains. The Good: Contains pretty much all of the essential AIC songs plus 4 non AIC album songs that are each fantastic ("What The Hell Have I", "A Little Bitter," "Get Born Again", and "Died. Overall, a great overview of AIC's career. The two glaring omissions are "Down In A Hole" and "Bleed The Freak.

Alice in Chains is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1987 by guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell and drummer Sean Kinney, who later recruited bassist Mike Starr and lead vocalist Layne Staley. Starr was replaced by Mike Inez in 1993. William DuVall joined the band in 2006 as co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, replacing Staley, who died in 2002. The band took its name from Staley's previous group, the glam metal band Alice N' Chains. Although widely associated with grunge music, the band's sound incorporates heavy metal elements.
