Much was made of the Robb's misjudged folk song Bastards, using various slurs to try and reclaim them in his new woke form, instead coming across as a cringey mess. The record is bloated and outstays its welcome at 15 tracks and over 70 minutes in length, but there is the odd diamond in the rough – all limited to the first half of the record. 7) Unto The Locust (2011). The More Things Chang. s 10 songs all scoring a 10 out of 10. Casual fans are welcome to tread the party line, but this is Machine Head’s ultimate artistic achievement. Metal Hammer Newsletter.

Machine Head Machine Head consisted of vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn (en), guitarist Logan Mader, bassist Adam Duce, and drummer Tony Costanza, who was replaced by Chris Kontos, who was also replaced by ex-Sacred Reich drummer Dave McClain who has bee with the band since in 1996. For some reason, when this band first came onto the scene they downplayed Flynn's involvement with Violence and tried to distance themselves from the thrash legends. These guys were seriously ticked off when they wrote and recorded this album. is pure anger and aggression. Actually, that description pretty much sums up the whole 1990's, down-tuned, "modern metal" movement. Bands were no longer 'enjoying life' and 'partying' but instead were more content to be angry at the world, to complain about their pathetic lives, etc.
