LCD Soundsystem: 45:33. He’s the grizzled perfectionist behind one of 2007’s finest albums, alchemic remixer, discerning DJ and co-owner of the strenuously hip DFA label. Murphy says that the process of creating ‘45:33’ inspired a purple patch that eventually yielded ‘Sound Of Silver’, and you can hear some of that album’s ideas rolled out and road-tested here. 45:33’ begins with a sprinkling of sensuous Studio 54 loveliness, arguably more suited to working up a sweat in the boudoir than the gymnasium. Nevertheless, the uplifting piano riff seems designed to make you feel good about yourself for skipping the pub in favour of a spot of self-improvement – until the backing vocals start chanting Shame on you!
This album brings in elements from many of their previos songs and uses new elements, mixing it together in this 46 minute song. i really do consider it a new LCD Soundsystem Album rather than a single. It also has a new LCD Soundsystem Sound altogether- even more of a disco sound to it than than their old albums. More By LCD Soundsystem.

What 45:33 Remixes lacks most is personality, something even LCD's experimental one-offs (like the original 45:33) reliably offer. See: Pilooski's deep house pastiche. Yes, it sounds nothing like the original. a deep house pastiche.

When 45:33 was released, Murphy and LCD were accused of selling out to a big, bad corporation, which is something the musician found amusing because he really didn’t make very much money. He also thought this was hilarious. After finishing the project, Murphy returned, with new creative energy, to making Sound of Silver, which would become LCD Soundsystem’s breakthrough album in the .
